August Bank Holiday
Just one week to the August Bank Holiday and you are still undecided between a "staycation" and an holiday abroad?
Well there are still loads of offers to grab your last minute holiday to Alghero this weekend.
Flights from London are still reasonably priced and within the mark of £200 for leaving on Friday the 28th and back the following Tuesday morning.

If you'd rather go for a cheaper option the Hotel La Margherita a nice 3 star, is available at £380.

Wines from Alghero
Alghero is not just a beautiful place famous for the sunny weather, delicious food (ask about the Catalan lobster served here) or the wonderful beaches but it is also a renomated area of great flavoured wines.
You might have heard of Tanca Farra', Sella & Mosca or Le Bombarde "cannonau' (a full body, rich red wine) but in case you have never tried any of these superb wines from Alghero, now you have one more reason to start planning your next holiday to the north Sardinia capital.
Flying to Alghero from London?
Are you planning your holidays to Alghero and thinking to fly from London? Why not make it a bigger holiday then?
You can now fly from London Stansted to Alghero in the north west part of Sardinia and fly back home, to London Gatwick departing from Olbia in the north east coast.
Just rent a car when you land in Alghero, spend a couple of days there and then drive along the beautiful coast to Olbia Costa Smeralda airport.
But before, make sure you spend a day or two in Santa Teresa di Gallura to sunbath and swim at the wonderful beach of Rena Bianca.
Aragosta alla Catalana / Catalan Lobster
When in Alghero one the highlights of your visit should be the "lobster cooked the Catalan way" or as the locals call it "aragosta alla catalana".
In Alghero fresh lobster is fished locally.
Many restaurants in Alghero offer this delicacy but not to go wrong ask the locals. Check with the concierge at your hotel in Alghero where to book and don't forget to reserve in advance or you might have to face disappointment!
